Kolkata: What never happened any time before happened this time, when India’s international affairs got challenged. A panel discussion on an Indian television programme made several Middle East countries called Indian ambassadors and asked them about the action taken by the Government of India against people who used derogatory words against Prophet Muhammad. One Naveen Jindal had used Twitter to comment against the Prophet. But, Jindal was not first.

It had begun during a live show on a mainstream news channel where BJP’s national spokesperson Nupur Sharma attacked a Muslim panelist and used derogatory remarks against the Prophet.

After the complaints made by the Middle East nation, BJP suspended Nupur and threw out Naveen. But what did not change is the platform, where Nupur commented. Neither the channel owner nor Navika Kumar, the host, regretted letting Nupur speak against the Prophet.

Such news channels, papers, and even social media handles and pages are spreading poison in society. It fetches votes for certain ideological parties. They are beneficiaries of it and remain tight-lipped until this time when the matter knocked upon the door of Muslim countries.

Had the Indian government or channels controlled the hate agenda against a community, the BJP government wouldn’t have had to feel ashamed before the Islamic nations.

Since the channels are continuously spreading hatred through their debates, no wonder it will help further deteriorate the social fabric in the country.

eNewsroom India, which does old school journalism has been working on this aspect for the last five years. It has neither sold hate nor aligned with any political party to survive.

We covered almost all the major socio-political and economic stories from India in general and West Bengal, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan in particular.

eNewsroom has collaborated with FewCents, a Singapore based, monetization company so you can support us regularly from wherever you are and using whichever payment method you like.

Four Indian astronomers from West Bengal have discovered 53 giant radio quasars, each with jets millions of light-years long. Using TGSS data, the team identified rare, massive structures that reveal how black holes grow, how jets evolve, and how the early universe shaped asymmetric cosmic environments.
